Please help us find your relatives, friends or neighbors.

Please email capitalcredits@screc.com or call us at 570-924-3381 (Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) if you can help us find these former members.

Your Cooperative is a non-profit corporation owned by its consumer members.  All revenues in excess of expenses (called margins) are allocated (spread) back to each consumer-member who contributed revenues that year.

The allocation is based upon the total amount of electric bills paid by the member for that particular year.

The allocation of margins is done every spring following the close of the calendar year. Each year the Board of Directors reviews the financial condition of the Cooperative and determines if a refund of these margins (called capital credit retirement) is feasible.

On October 20, 2022, 4,072 checks amounting to $167,057.15 and covering the remaining 50% of 1994 and all of the years 1995 and 1996, were mailed out. Checks were sent to addresses on file for these members. Sometimes checks will be returned because we no longer have a valid address for some of our members. Click on the link above to see if you or someone you know is listed.

Please note that as more capital credit checks are returned to us due to invalid mailing addresses the list will be updated. Areas with green highlight indicate that they are new since the 2021 report. So, check back often to see if you recognize the name of a relative, friend or neighbor!

Helping Hand Fund

The Cooperative has established a Helping Hand Fund to assist members who experienced an economic hardship or tragic loss.

You may want to donate your capital credit check to the Helping Hand Fund. If you wish to donate this check simply write the word “donated” across the face of the check, sign your name under the word “donated” and return to the Cooperative.

You may be able and willing to donate directly to this fund. Send a check to the Cooperative and note that it is to be put into the Helping Hand Fund. If you wish to donate using a credit card or an ACH transaction, contact the office at 570-924-3381 and we will guide you through the process.

Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated. This is a simple and easy way to help your neighbors and fellow members of the Cooperative who are in need. Please note that 100% of all contributions go to needy families of the Cooperative. None of these funds are used for administration or any other purposes.

Thank you for helping our Cooperative members during their time of need.
