We had 550 members respond to our broadband survey. Overall, the response was very positive. 

This survey was intended to gain insight into member interest in using SCREC communication infrastructure to provide broadband access if SCREC installs fiber for enhancing our distribution system to improve reliability, reduce outage restoration times, and provide real time electric usage information to all members. We believe a secondary benefit to installing fiber for the purpose of improving SCREC’s electric distribution system is allowing a vetted Internet Service Provider to use our fiber plant to provide broadband services to our members. The timing of said project is dependent upon financing, which may include acquiring grant funding for a middle mile fiber project.
