We are proud to announce that this year, nine graduating high school seniors received the 2025 Sullivan County REC Craig A. Harting Memorial Scholarship!

To be considered for the scholarship, students had to meet the following criteria:

  1. Student's guardian must be an SCREC member;
  2. Student must be a graduating high school senior;
  3. Student must attend either a public or private school while living in our service territory, or be homeschooled/cyberschooled in our service territory;
  4. Student must be obtaining a postsecondary education (e.g., university/college, trade school, electric lineworker school, etc.) or opening a small business; and
  5. Student cannot be an immediate relation to any employee or director of SCREC.

In order to apply, students had to fill out an application answering eight questions, submit academic proof (high school transcript, SAT/ACT results, and postsecondary acceptance letter or proof of entrepreneurial business venture), and answer the following essay question in at least 500 words: After obtaining your postsecondary degree/certification/diploma/etc., what career path do you intend to pursue, and why do you want to pursue this career? How do you plan to give back to your community using you postsecondary experience and education? Explain in detail.

A Scholarship Committee consisting of Directors Karen Beinlich, Dr. Stephan Brady, and David Aumen selected the following recipients:
